A Komodo Dragon named Flora has just recently gave birth to five baby komodo dragons using asexual reproduction, the mother hadn’t even been exposed to a male in her life. This amazing occurrence happened in a British zoo. after an 8 month gestation period the baby dragons where born and the zoo keepers were thrilled, some said that the 8 year old mother could actually considered a mom and dad because it was an asexual reproduction. After the birth, zoo keepers separated the mother from the baby’s because zoo keepers thought that the mother would eat them. This process has only been seen from 70 species of animals.

A fisherman south of Tokyo alerted The Awashima Park in Shizuoka that he had seen an odd looking eel/shark creature swimming in the water. He had gotten footage of the 5ft creature and it was later caught and they had identified as a female frilled shark. But in captivity the shark was in poor condition and sadly died a few hours later. This was so rare because these frilled sharks, also known as the living fossil because it has changed little from the prehistoric times, live about 2,000ft under water, they also eat other sharks. The link under frill shark will bring you to a YOUTUBE video of a Frill Shark.

The best CD ever is The Re-UpPresented by EMINEM. Some of the songs are about his life and how he grew up. He has two daughters, one’s name is Hailie Jade and his other daughters name is Laney. Eminem has a younger half brother named Nathen and they are 14 years apart. Eminem’s real name is Marshel Mathers, he got the name, “EMINEM” from his initials, M.M.. He wasn’t all that in school, he was severally bullied in school because of his buck teeth, he had also dropped out of school in the 9th grade. In the beginning of his music career he was in a group called Soul Intent but later changed the name to D12, the last time he made an album with D12 was in 2005. His first album was called Infinite, but it never scored big on the record charts. His self produced album, The Slim Shady EP, had gotten himself in alot of fame because the album had caught the attention of Dr. Dre, who had helped him produce The Slim Shady LP in 1999, the album had made him a video and radio star. He had also starred in the movie 8 Mile, that is based on his early life in Chicago where he had started rapping as a teenager. In 2003 he wrote the song, Lose Yourself that made him the first rapper to get an Oscar Award. In 2005 he had released a greatest hits album with D12, the songs on the album that got him the most fame was How Come and My Band. Marshel raps with 50 cent and was his tutor, Em had gave him some great tips on rapping and had inspired 50 to make one of his own movies, Get Rich Or Die Trying, he inspired him by Eminems movie, 8 Mile. Marshel now releases most of his albums with

Our economy is based on oil and without it it would crash because about 90% of the worlds transportation runs on an oil called petroleum, we wouldn’t plastic goods, medican, or even toothpaste. Ever since the first oil well was drilled on the shore of Oil Creek in Titusville, Pa., in less than 150 years in the past our economy was changed for ever. U.S. government scientists say that only 2.6 trillion barrells are left in the ground but we wont find about 900 billion barrels. Oil is also expensive to extract from the rocks, the rocks must be heated to 900 degrees fahrenhiet. The U.S. doesn’t have enough oil for the whole country because we only have 22.7 billion barrels so we have to get most of it from the OPEC countries, Algeria, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Venezuela, and the biggest exporter Saudi Arabia. Oil costs now so much in the U.S. because Americans want giant Hummers and sports cars and we use up 25% of the worlds oil supply. Since the oil supply is running out sciencetistsare experimenting with new cars that run on solar power and compressed air. In Luxembourg they made the MiniCAT that runs on comressed air. Source: Wikipedia and Crude Awakening article written by: Emma Davy

Its 1938 and things here in turkey have dramatically changed since Mustafa Kemal became dictator. First he had made a law forbidding wearing a fez, can you believe it after all these years now we cant even pray because now that we have hats with a brim we cant touch our foreheads to the ground when we pray and its almost like giving up our Muslim religion, and one person actually avoided wearing the hats with brims by wearing bandages on his head like he was in great pain! I used to be going through a great deal of stress because Mustafa had changed our alphabet to one based on the roman alphabet used for western European languages. And he only gave us 3 months to learn the new alphabet by changing all newspapers, street signs and books to be in the new style. Kemal also had changed our capital from being Istanbul to Ankara. But I do have to thank him (if he was still alive) for giving us something more modern in our lives and for changing how we live here in Turkey.

They are cold blooded meaning that they live in warm climates. The ball pythons are a brown/tan and are camouflaged. An adult mother will keep her eggs inside of her to protect them from danger, and to keep them warm. After the ball python has ate their prey whole they will have to travel somewhere warm like a hot hot rock to digest the small animal since they do not chew their food.

Last week scientists from the Field Museum, in Chicago, Illinois, announced that giant fish known as Dunkleosteus terrelli who lived during the Devonian time period, between 415 and 360 million years ago has the most powerful jaws of any fish ever. Scientists believe that the 4 ton fish had a bite stronger than an alligators, a sharks and they think stronger than a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The vicious fish could open and close its mouth in just in 1/50 of a second, that kind of force could make a suction in the water and pull its prey into its mouth. The 33 foot long ancient sea monster didn’t even have teeth, instead it had two bony blades that it used to snap and crush other animals.

Today in science class we revued our vocab, trait, heredity, genetics, pure, hybrid, generation, offspring, and Gregor Mendel. We also took a survey of the kids in class on their traits, such as hair color, whether you are left or right handed, eye color, if you can roll your tongue, and if you have an attached or unattached ear lobes. We also revued how it takes two genes to make a trait. We learned that in hair color black is the dominant and red hair is recessive, and brown is the most dominant in eye color.
